Luca Tóth

Animation director and illustrator, born in 1989. She completed a bachelor’s programme at Moholy-Nagy University of Art and Design Budapest (MOME) and continued her studies at the Royal College of Art in London. Her graduation film, The Age of Curious, won the Jury’s Special Mention at the Annecy International Animation Film Festival. After returning from London, she made her first original animated short, Superbia, in Budapest. It premiered in 2016 at the Critics’ Week in Cannes and was selected for over 80 international festivals. Her second short, Mr. Mare, debuted at the Berlinale in 2019, and Vegan Mayo was completed in 2024. She has been cooperating with several NGOs, creating animations for the Hungarian Civil Liberties Union, Haver Foundation and Budapest Pride, among others. She has also worked as a consultant at MOME, Partium Christian University in Oradea, and the CEE Workshop.
