14:45–15:20
Gábor Marinov:
Artificial Intelligence and Animation: On the Brink of an Inevitable Revolution
The use of AI-based tools in animation: friend, foe, or merely another instrument at our disposal? Artificial intelligence is gaining an increasingly prominent role in the creative industries—including animation. But how does it transform workflows, visual thinking, and the creative role itself?
This talk presents how AI is integrated into various phases of animation production—from idea generation and visual development to the final visual production—based on the practical experience of Moonrock Animation Studio. In addition to technological aspects, aesthetic and ethical dilemmas will also be addressed.
The aim is not only to explore current trends but also to outline a possible vision of the future—an era where AI sheds new light on the creative process and where the traditional boundaries of moving image art may begin to blur.
15:20–15:45
Imre Madácsi, Miklós Rozslay, András Sárközi (sound engineers, sound designers, Gaston Studio):
How We Hear Animation Today – Actors, Sound Design and Film Music in the Age of AI
Just like in many other fields of life, artificial intelligence is opening new horizons in film and animation sound design. Will AI-generated voices replace human actors? How does AI change the process of creating sound design? What does film music made with the help of AI sound like?
The talk presents the role of AI in post-production sound design through compelling examples, addressing artistic, technical, and legal considerations.
15:45–16:15
Dr Gergely Békés (lawyer, member of the Expert Body on Copyright Law): What Can Copyright Law Do with AI?
The lecture provides a snapshot of the relationship between copyright and generative AI in a period when the rapid spread of AI use is clearly contributing to the loss of income for authors and performers. Topics include training data, prompts and outputs, as well as regulatory trends.
16:15–16:20
Closing remarks: Gábor Marinov
16:20–16:30
