György Ráduly

György Ráduly was born in Eger in 1975. He entered tertiary education studying economics—first in Hungary and then in France. He gained his degree in marketing at the ESSCA/ESIAME college. Later he completed a master’s programme in business management at L'Institut d'études politiques de Paris (Siences-Po). He worked for 12 years in France as a film distributor and producer, specialising in Hungarian and Central European heritage cinema. He was a founding member of the Association Kino Visegrad in Paris, the initiator of the creation of the screening room at the Institut Hongrois de Paris, and a co-organizer of numerous festivals and retrospective programmes. He worked as a film distributor, producer, production manager and film restoration manager at the French companies Clavis Film and Yenta Production. Since 2017, Ráduly has been the head of the Hungarian National Film Archive, a directorate of the National Film Institute, where he has led the institution’s development and modernisation project. He has also been the director of the Film Preservation and Technology Division at the National Film Institute since 2024, where he is responsible for the modernisation of the NFI’s digital and photochemical FilmLab. He is the founder and director of the Budapest Classics Film Marathon. Since 2019, he has been the deputy secretary general of FIAF (Fédération Internationale des Archives du Film), and a member of the board of directors of ACE (Association des Cinémathèques Européennes).
