Michal Minich-Mlcousek

Michal Minich-Mlcousek is a film graduate of the York University (Canada). He has executive-produced and edited around 80 audiovisual projects for major global organisations and has also served as policy coordinator for 132 educational NGOs in Brussels, addressing venues including the Council of Europe. He also created one of Slovakia’s largest philanthropic initiatives of its kind, drawing on three generations of family expertise in television and media. He led intergenerational workshops worldwide and interviewed 50 NGO leaders and policymakers in just three days. Currently, he is the executive director of the Biennial of Animation Bratislava (BAB). Michal unites his extensive experience to champion children’s animation on an unprecedented scale. Under his leadership, the nearly 50-year-old BAB—the world’s only children’s animation biennial—reached over 50,000 children in 2024, culminating in simultaneous screenings across 11 Slovak cities. For the first time ever, BAB’s Grand Prix winner achieved global recognition, earning a nomination at the Annie Awards.
